The contest, sponsored by FESMAN, is open to emerging artists who are members of national delegations registered with FESMAN. On this occasion, the young assembly of black artists will face off in 8 disciplines: Theatre, literature (poetry, novels, short stories and tales), traditional and contemporary dance, traditional and modern music, fashion, art craftwork, visual arts (painting, sculpture and design) and cinema (short films, feature films, documentaries and animated films), with each delegation being required to participate in at least four forms of expressions.
An international jury will judge the creativity and technical expertise of the artists in each discipline as well as their capacity to reflect the African Renaissance theme. This jury will award a first, second and third prize and Honourable Mentions as well.
