| The Sciences, Technologies and African Renaissance |
|
Never have science and technology so much determined the progress and evolution of human societies: we are living in a global society governed by knowledge. Thus, in such a world characterized by permanent innovation, Africa cannot remain on the fringe of this trend without impeding its evolution toward true renaissance. The Continent, with the support of African States and the Diasporas, must promote scientific and technological research to the level of international competitiveness. Therefore, in order to mark the African presence in the sciences and technologies, the African Renaissance movement should focus on how to achieve excellence in this area. To recapture science and technology, Africa has to have a Pan-Africanist vision shared by the States and the Diaspora, a vision the FESMAN III will enable us to define. An integration of scientific and technological research in Africa would provide her youth with hopes for the future and a sense of dignity. |
