« African Renaissance, Cultural Diversity and African Unity » is the main theme of the colloquium organized within the framework of the FESMAN.
The symposium argument
Nine sub-themes will serve as different approches to this general theme:
- Pan-Africanism, African Descent Worldwide and African Renaissance: The Challenge of Protecting and Valorizing the Diversity of the Cultural and Linguistic Expressions of the Black World
- Government Systems, Black Civilization, Peace and the Building of New Economic and Political Spaces for African Renaissance
- Creativity, Creators and the Creative Industry
- Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage and Memory of the Black World
- Cultural Identity, Social Cohesion and African Renaissance
- Education, Re-construction of Education Systems and African Renaissance
- The Sciences, Technology and African Renaissance
- The Problematic of Resistances in Africa and the Diaspora World
- The Contribution of Africa and the Diaspora to Science and to the Heritage of Mankind
- Contemporary African Thought and African Renaissance
Intellectuals from Africa and the Diaspora, in particular, and in general, all women and men of culture interested in the FESMAN, regardless of their nationality, may submit papers.
Papers should be written either in English, Arabic, French or Portuguese.
Authors submitting papers may choose their own topics while remaining within the boundaries of the general theme and abiding by the scientific arguments stated in the file attached to the present document and entitled: The Bamako Themes and Arguments.
Intellectuals from Africa and the Diaspora, in particular, and in general, all women and men of culture interested in the FESMAN, regardless of their nationality, may submit papers.

In addition to paper summaries which should not exceed 15 lines (Arial 12 format, interline: single, margin: 2 cm), each author should join his/her CV including his/her main publications.
NOTE: Papers that will be submitted later after the summaries should not exceed 20 pages (interline: double, Arial 12).

Authors whose proposals are accepted should send their papers to the above-mentioned addresses no later than September 15, 2009. Decisions made by selection bodies are without appeal.
